Dear Colleague:
The Spring 2010 Nuclear Nonoperating Owners Group (NNOG) Conference will be
held April 20-23, 2010 in Charlotte/Concord, North Carolina. This year the conference
is hosted by Piedmont Municipal Power Agency, a nonoperating owner of the Catawba
Nuclear Power Station.
The NNOG Conference provides opportunities to learn about the commercial nuclear
industry and the challenges facing nonoperating owners. The conference will
cover an overview of nuclear industry issues and after the conference, attendees
will have current knowledge of technical and accounting issues facing nonoperating
owners of nuclear plants. Specific areas of knowledge will include plant oversight
and regulatory concerns. The conference agenda covers technical, auditing and
accounting issues and the material is suitable for those with all levels of
industry knowledge. There are no prerequisites and advance preparation is not
necessary to attend the NNOG conference. The program delivery method is group
live.
This year’s conference features two and a half days of first-class presentations,
discussions and a reception on Wednesday evening to promote networking among
nuclear colleagues. Attendees can expect to receive approximately 18 Continuing
Professional Education (CPE) credits for attendance at all conference events.
As with past conferences, a pre-conference tour is planned for Tuesday, April
20, 2010 to include a tour of Siemens Manufacturing Facility for steam turbines
and generators, EPRI’s Research and Development Facility, and the Lowe’s
Motor Speedway (including a spin around the track in a Pace Car, and a “Behind
the Scenes” Garage tour). The pre-conference tour is limited to the first
45 requested by conference attendees. Spouses and guests are welcome to attend
the pre-conference tour on a “first come first served basis” after
the conference attendee requests have been met.

Registration Fee:
The conference registration fee is $370, which includes full breakfasts for
registrants Wednesday through Friday, lunches on Wednesday and Thursday, a reception
on Wednesday evening, and morning and afternoon breaks associated with the conference.
Not included in the registration fee is the cost associated with the pre-conference
tour. An additional $30 is required in order to cover transportation, lunch,
and tour costs. While no formal spouse program is planned, spouses may join
in the conference luncheons and receptions for an additional fee.
Transportation:
Commercial transportation and taxi service between the airport and hotel is
available from several local transportation companies. Lotus Limousine Service
maintains a reservation desk at the Conference Embassy Suites in Concord. Their
fees are comparable or better than the other limousines and taxis serving that
area. The distance from the Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC to
the Embassy Suites in Concord is 27 miles. A preconference reservation is recommended
to assure availability and prompt pick up by calling 704-719-4799 or www.lotuslimousine.com.
Please provide your flight number so any delays or changes can be tracked by
the service. The prices are as follows:
Airport pick up
Sedan $55.00 for up to 2 passengers; $5.00 each additional passenger up to 4
max.
SUV up to 6 passengers $90.00.
Prices based on single flight arrival in same vehicle. If multiple flight arrivals
are scheduled for the same vehicle, an additional charge may apply.
Embassy Suites to airport
Sedan $50.00 for up to 2 passengers $5 each additional passenger up to 4 max.
SUV up to 6 passengers $90.00
Conference Dress Code:
All conference programs are “business casual” – shirts with
collars, no jeans. The pre-conference tour participants should wear leather-upper,
solid-soled shoes while on tour.
Refund Policy:
A full refund of the registration fee will be given to attendees who cancel
up to 21 days prior to the start of the conference. One-half of the registration
fee will be refunded for cancellations less than 21 days but more than 7 days
prior to the conference. No refund for cancellations within 7 days of the conference.
Substitutions (except for the pre-conference tour) may be made at any time up
to the start of the conference.
Complaints:
Complaints may be submitted in writing to any member of the Steering Committee.
Complaints will be discussed and resolved by a majority vote of the Steering
Committee at its next meeting after receipt of the complaint. The results will
be forwarded to the complainant(s).

Estimated Total CPE Credits Available:
CPE credits are based on 50 minute credit hours. The fields
of study are anticipated to include Business Management & Organization;
Specialized Knowledge & Applications; Accounting; and Finance. There
are no prerequisites for the conference, there is no advance preparation
needed, and the level of knowledge required is basic. The delivery method
is Group Live, and the teaching method is seminar/lecture. Upon completion
of the conference, attendees will obtain a certificate of attendance for
the sessions attended. Final approval of a course for CPR credit rests with
each states regulatory board.

NNOG Policy Statement on Conference Attendance
The Nuclear Non-Operating Owners' Group (NNOG) welcomes the participation
of employees or representatives of non-operating owners of nuclear power plants
and related industry and regulatory organizations, such as Public Service
Commissions, NRC, NEI, INPO, NEIL, ANI, NML, EPRI, etc. It also welcomes the
participation of legal counsel and other consultants to non-operating owners,
if their attendance is requested by a non-operating owner with whom they are
under contract. All NNOG speakers, regardless of affiliation, are cordially
invited to fully participate in the conference at which they speak.
